Getting to Nikiti, Vourvourou, Sarti & Neos Marmaras
Sithonia is the middle peninsula of Halkidiki, and honestly, one of the most beautiful. Pine forests, hidden coves, crystal-clear water — quieter and more unspoiled than Kassandra. The drive from the airport takes about 75 to 90 minutes.
Public transport here is basically non-existent — if it runs at all, it takes hours and involves multiple changes. With a private transfer, you're in a comfortable car going directly to your door. Your holiday starts the moment you land.
What's included with every Sithonia transfer:
- Door-to-door: We drop you at your hotel, holiday apartment, or villa — no detours.
- Fixed price, no meter: All road tolls included. What you're quoted is what you pay.
- Luggage? No problem: Plenty of space in both sedans and minivans, at no extra charge.
- Free child seats: Infant seats, cradles, and boosters for kids of all ages — just ask.
- Name sign at arrivals: Your driver waits for you at the exit with your name on a board.

Your Guide to Sithonia
Why thousands of British visitors choose the middle peninsula — the most natural and unspoiled part of Halkidiki.
Wild Beaches & Coves
Sithonia has more unspoiled coastline than any other part of Halkidiki. Unlike Kassandra's developed resorts, many Sithonia beaches are reachable only by boat or rough track — secluded coves with turquoise water and no facilities. Karidi, Kalogria, Tristinika, Portokali, and Livari are some of the best-kept beach secrets in northern Greece.
Pine Forests to the Sea
Sithonia's interior is covered in dense pine and oak forests that run right to the shoreline in many places. The coastal road circling the peninsula is one of the most scenic drives in Greece — constantly revealing new bays, headlands, and island views. The area around Vourvourou and Sarti is particularly lush, with Mount Itamos providing walking trails and panoramic views.
Island Hopping & Boat Hire
Vourvourou Bay has nine offshore islands, and small boat rental is widely available in summer. The Blue Lagoon between two of the islands is Halkidiki's most photographed spot. Nikiti Marina offers sailing tours and sunset cruises. Porto Carras Marina near Neos Marmaras has luxury yacht charters and scuba diving courses — some of the best dive sites in northern Greece are just offshore.
From Boutique to Luxury
Sithonia's accommodation ranges from family-run apartments in Nikiti to world-class resorts. Danai Beach Resort consistently appears on European best-beach-hotel lists. Ekies All Senses Resort at Vourvourou is a boutique favourite. Porto Carras is the peninsula's grandest complex, with multiple hotels, a winery, a casino, a marina, and an 18-hole golf course.
Food & Local Life
Sithonia's tavernas are less touristy than Kassandra's — genuinely local fish restaurants where the menu depends on the morning's catch. Neos Marmaras has the most variety. Nikiti's old town has excellent mezze bars in converted stone buildings. The Nikiti Friday market sells world-class thyme honey, local cheeses, and fresh produce. Porto Carras Winery does daily tastings of its estate wines.
Best Time to Visit
June and September are Sithonia at its best — sea temperature around 24°C, all facilities open, fewer crowds. July and August are busiest, especially in Neos Marmaras and Nikiti, but even at peak the peninsula is quieter than Kassandra. Sithonia attracts visitors who prioritise nature, water clarity, and authenticity over all-inclusive packages and beach clubs.
